WILLIAM TOTOK

William Totok, born in 1951, in Comloşu-Mare (Banat/Romania), graduate of the Faculty of Philology-History, (University of Timisoara). Co-founder of the Banat Action Group / Aktionsgruppe Banat (1972-75), he was politically imprisoned for “propaganda against the socialist order” (1975-76). Since 1987, he lives as a writer and journalist in Berlin. He started with poems in the magazine „Neue Literatur” in 1970. His last volume of poems appeared in Ludwigsburg, in 2016: „… an den Fahnenstangen fault die Wut”, (…anger rages on the masts). He has also published several volumes of essays, and literary, political and historical studies.
